ChatGPT vs Gemini vs Claude: the AI race in one chart
ChatGPT has the most weekly users. Gemini passed a billion monthly users. Claude doesn't publish a number. But the biggest isn't always the best for your job.

How to read the chart, and pick your AI
Weekly and monthly aren't the same
ChatGPT's number counts weekly users. Gemini's counts monthly users. Someone who opens an app once a month counts in a monthly number but not in a weekly one, so you can't compare them directly.
Claude's number is an outside estimate
Anthropic doesn't publish a user number. Outside estimates put Claude around 150 million a week (First Page Sage says about 148 million). Treat it as a guess.
Pick by the job, not by size
Most people use one AI for everything, but each one is best at something different. Pick one real task you do every week.
Test the same task in two or three
Paste the exact same task into ChatGPT, Gemini and Claude. Keep the one that does that job best, and use it for that job.
