Frontend Slides: slides that look designed, made with Claude

The free tool from the reel is zarazhangrui/frontend-slides, a skill for Claude Code (it also works with other coding agents). You describe your deck, it shows you 3 style previews to pick from, then builds the whole presentation as one HTML page with animations and opens it in your browser.

CostFree and open source (MIT). Claude Code needs a paid Claude plan. Putting a deck online uses the Vercel free tier.

What you need first

Step by step

Add the skill in Claude Code

Send this as its own message: /plugin marketplace add https://github.com/zarazhangrui/frontend-slides. When it finishes, send: /plugin install frontend-slides@frontend-slides.

Tip: Use the full https link. The short owner/repo form can make Claude Code try SSH and fail.

Start a deck

Type /frontend-slides:frontend-slides and say what it's about, e.g. "I want to create a pitch deck for my AI startup". It asks about your slides, messages and images.

Pick a look

It makes 3 style previews from your brief. Pick the one you like, no need to describe a style in words.

Get the deck

It builds the full presentation as one HTML file with animations and opens it in your browser. Ask for changes in plain English.

Convert an old PowerPoint (optional)

Say "Convert my presentation.pptx to a web slideshow". It pulls out the text, images and notes, shows them to you to confirm, then rebuilds them in the style you pick.

Share it

Ask Claude to export a PDF (it uses scripts/export-pdf.sh) or to deploy it to a live link (scripts/deploy.sh, Vercel free tier, it walks you through signup).

The catch

Web slides, not PowerPoint files. The result is an HTML page. If your team edits decks in PowerPoint or Google Slides, this won't fit that workflow.
The PDF is a static snapshot. Animations are not kept in the PDF export.
Needs a coding agent. It runs inside Claude Code (paid plan) or a similar tool, not in the normal Claude chat app.
Check the content. The design is the strong part. Read every number and claim before you present it.
