Anatomy: Claude builds interactive machines that explain ideas
The free, open-source skill from the reel. Ask it to explain an idea and it invents a physical machine that works like that idea, builds it from dozens of small shaded parts, and gives you an interactive figure you can hover, press and take apart.
Checked on 20 Oct 2026. Tools change fast, so the official page always wins if it says something different.
What you need first
node -v.Step by step
Install the skill
In your Terminal run npx skills add wheresryan22/anatomy -g -a claude-code.
Tip: Without the -a part the installer asks which agents to set up. If Claude Code is already open, run /reload-skills.
Ask for a figure
In Claude Code type /anatomy explain how a token bucket rate limiter works, interactive. Swap in any idea you want explained.
Give it real numbers
Name the idea, not the drawing, and include the real sizes, counts and rates. Or name the machine you want (an espresso machine, a lock) and say what should move.
Say where it will live
A standalone HTML page, a single SVG file, or a React/Next.js component, light or dark. The build is different for each.
Let it check its work
It builds the parts, runs its geometry audit and zooms in on every joint. Give it feedback on the first version, then open the page it writes.

The catch
- It's slow on purpose. A good figure takes a long session (parts list, geometry, audit, close-ups), and usually a round of feedback.
- Machines, not people or maps. It draws machines, instruments, tools and furniture. An idea with no mechanism comes out weaker.
- Not a chart library. No axes or data plots, numbers show as a live readout.
- Free skill, plan usage. It runs on your Claude (or other agent) plan, and a big figure uses a fair bit of it.
- 3D mode is beta and the fire and water effects need WebGL (the drawing still works without it).
