Learn any book chapter with one ChatGPT code
Teach ChatGPT four short codes once. Then paste a chapter and type /mindmap, /flashcards, /sketchnotes or /comic.

Step by step
Paste the setup prompt
Start a new chat and paste this first. ChatGPT replies "Ready" and now knows the codes for this chat.
In this chat I'll use short codes. When I paste some text and type a code, do this: /mindmap: a map of the key ideas and how they connect. /flashcards: question-and-answer cards I can test myself with. /sketchnotes: a one-page visual summary. /comic: the hardest idea as a short comic, panel by panel. Reply "Ready" when you understand.
Paste a chapter
Use text you're allowed to use. We tested it on chapter 3 of The Art of War, a public-domain translation.
Type a code
Start with /mindmap. Then try /flashcards to test yourself. In our test it made 6 flashcards.
/mindmap
Pictures need a login
/sketchnotes and /comic can come back as text: a one-page layout, or a comic script panel by panel. Logged out, ChatGPT asked us to log in before it would draw images.
Make the codes stick
In a logged-out chat the codes only last for that chat. To keep them, save the setup in Settings → Personalization → Custom instructions (you need an account).

The catch
- They aren't secret commands. ChatGPT only follows them because you set them up.
- Image versions use your image limits on the free plan.
- A summary isn't the whole book. Use it to get the key ideas and test yourself, then read the parts that matter.
