video-shotcraft: Claude makes your product promo video

The free, open-source skill from the reel. You tell Claude Code or Codex "make a promo for my product" and it captures your real pages, picks shots from a library of motion recipes, animates the film in code with Remotion, adds music and sound, checks every frame and hands you an MP4 you can keep editing. It's not an AI video generator: every frame is drawn from your own screenshots.

CostThe skill is free and open source (Apache-2.0). It runs inside Claude Code or Codex, so it uses your normal AI usage. The video engine (Remotion) is free for individuals and small teams; bigger companies may need a paid Remotion license.

What you need first

1Claude Code or CodexA paid Claude or ChatGPT plan, or API credits. The film is built by the agent, so it uses your AI usage.

2Node.js and npm, plus ffmpegFor rendering and the frame checks. uv is only needed for music beat analysis, and puppeteer installs itself when it captures your pages. Tested on macOS; Linux works with the notes in the README.

Install the skill

Ask for a promo

Say: Use video-shotcraft to make a promo for my product. Give it your site URL or screenshots. It will offer the Ink Press template, which is the fastest path.

Tip: Use your own product's pages. The demo screenshots in the template are only examples.

Let it capture and storyboard

It captures your real pages, picks shots from the library and storyboards the film. You can also choose shots by name from the Gallery (link below).

Get the MP4

It animates the film with Remotion, cuts it to the beat, adds sound design, checks the frames and renders the MP4.

Keep editing

The Motion Workbench opens in your browser: change text, colours and timing, swap shots, then export again. Preview and render match frame for frame.

The catch

You need Claude Code or Codex. It's a skill for a coding agent, not a website you upload to.
It uses your AI usage. A full film is a long agent session, so watch your limits or API bill.
Remotion license: free for individuals and small teams, but companies over Remotion's size limit may need a paid license. Check it before using this for client or company work.
Setup takes a few minutes the first time (Node, ffmpeg, and Remotion downloads its own headless Chrome on the first render).
