GEO-SEO skill: is ChatGPT able to find your business?

The free, open-source tool from the reel. Give it your website and it scores how ready your site is for AI search: are AI crawlers blocked, how quotable are your pages, where is your brand mentioned, is your schema set up. Then it gives you a report with a prioritised to-do list.

What you need first

1Claude CodeAnthropic's coding tool for your terminal. Install it first and sign in with your Claude account.

2Python 3.10+ and GitMost Macs have Git already. On Windows install Git for Windows and use Git Bash, not PowerShell.

Step by step

Install the skill

Open the GitHub page (link below) and copy the one-command install from the Quick Start section into your Terminal (Mac/Linux) or Git Bash (Windows). It puts the skill in ~/.claude/skills and its Python bits in their own folder, so your system Python isn't touched.

Tip: Prefer to look before you run? Use the Manual Install: git clone the repo, read install.sh, then run it.

Open Claude Code

Start Claude Code in your Terminal as usual.

Run the audit

Type /geo audit https://yourbusiness.com. It checks your site with five helpers at once and gives you a score out of 100. In a hurry? /geo quick https://yourbusiness.com gives a short snapshot.

Get the PDF report

Type /geo report-pdf for a PDF with charts and a prioritised action plan you can fix yourself or send to whoever runs your website.

Fix the quick wins first

Usually: let AI crawlers in (robots.txt), add clear question-and-answer sections to your key pages, and add business schema. Run the audit again after you change things.

The catch

It scores readiness, it doesn't guarantee mentions. No tool can promise ChatGPT or Google will recommend you.
It doesn't ask ChatGPT about you. It looks at your site and the web the way AI search tools would.
You need Claude Code on a computer. It won't run in the normal Claude app or on your phone.
The README promotes a paid community and quotes market numbers without sources. The tool itself is free, you don't need the community to use it.
Treat its advice as a checklist, not gospel. Check changes to robots.txt or schema with whoever looks after your site.
