AI Employees: 8 AI workers that brief you every morning

The free repo from the reel. Each AI Employee is a folder of scheduled routines that covers one business role. You install one in Claude Code, it reads your website, builds a dashboard, schedules its own routines and leaves you one brief every morning. Everything is drafted and held for your click.

CostFree and open source (MIT). On a Claude Pro or Max plan there's no extra bill, it uses a share of your plan's usage limits. The author measured one worker at about 6% of what his Max plan sent to Claude.

DoesEight roles with 60 routines: GTM Engineer (your launch), SEO/AEO, Web Dev, Social Media, Ad Manager, Sales, Customer Satisfaction and a Chief of Staff that reads the others' logs and brings you three moves.

NeedsAn AI agent you're logged in to (Claude Code is what the author uses; it also lists Codex, OpenCode, Cline and others) and a browser signed in to the accounts it should read. Windows, Mac or Linux.

Proof630+ stars and 170+ forks on GitHub (created 2 Sep 2026). The README shows a sample morning brief from a fictional business so you can see the output first.

Checked on 19 Oct 2026. Tools change fast, so the official page always wins if it says something different.

What you need first

1Claude Code + a Claude planPro or Max. The routines run on your plan's usage, no API key needed.

2A folder outside cloud syncNot inside OneDrive, Dropbox, Google Drive or iCloud, the install checks this.

3A browser signed in to your accountsThe workers read and fill pages the way you do, signed in as you. They never create accounts, enter passwords or accept terms.

Step by step

Pick one worker

Start with one role, not all eight. The GTM Engineer (launch) or Social Media Employee are good first picks.

Tip: Only download from the official GitHub page (link below).

Download its folder

On the GitHub page click the green Code button, then Download ZIP, and extract it to a folder on your computer. Or in Terminal: npx ai-employees hire gtm-engineer --to <folder>.

Open Claude Code in that folder

In Terminal, cd into the worker's folder and type claude.

Tell it to install

Say: Install the GTM Engineer from this folder. (use the role you picked). It researches your business from your website, builds your dashboard, schedules its own routines and stops once to show you its first drafts.

Tip: Prefer plugins? In Claude Code: /plugin marketplace add markfulton/ai-employees, then /plugin install ai-employees@ai-employees and /ai-employees:hire.

Read your morning brief

Each morning you get one brief: what it did today, what's waiting on you, and what's blocked. Tick the drafts you like and press the button yourself.

The catch

It works signed in as you. It drives your browser with your accounts, so start with one worker and read what it does before you trust it with more.
Every send waits for your click. Posts, emails, form submits and ad spend are held until you approve, unless you hand a channel over in RELEASES.md. Keep it that way at the start.
It uses your Claude plan. No extra bill on Pro/Max, but scheduled runs eat into your usage limits. Your computer has to be on for the routines to run.
The one-click route is an upsell funnel. The README pushes a free club account that also sells a paid membership. You don't need it: the manual install above is the whole thing.
