Claude SEO: a full SEO audit of your website, free

The free, open-source skill from the reel. Give it your website and it checks technical SEO, content quality, schema and AI-search readiness at the same time, then writes a report with a score out of 100 and a prioritised list of fixes.

CostFree and open source (MIT), no API keys needed. It runs inside Claude Code, so it uses your normal Claude plan, and a full audit uses a lot of it.

DoesFull-site and single-page SEO audits, schema checks, AI-search (GEO) checks, local SEO, sitemaps and more. Up to 17 specialist agents work in parallel. Reports are saved as Markdown, PDF and JSON files on your computer.

What you need first

1Claude CodeAnthropic's coding tool for your terminal. Install it first and sign in with your Claude account.

2Python 3.11 or newerThe setup step makes its own Python environment, so your system Python isn't changed.

Step by step

Open Claude Code

Start Claude Code in your Terminal as usual (type claude).

Add the plugin

Type /plugin marketplace add AgriciDaniel/claude-seo, then /plugin install claude-seo@agricidaniel-claude-seo.

Tip: Want to read it before installing? The GitHub page also has a manual install with git clone so you can check install.sh first.

Run the setup

Type /seo setup. It installs what it needs in its own folder. /seo doctor checks everything is ready.

Audit your site

Type /seo audit https://yourbusiness.com. For one page only, use /seo page https://yourbusiness.com/about (quicker and uses less of your Claude plan).

Fix the top items first

Read the report from the top: it's ranked by priority. Fix the first few, then run the audit again to see the score move.

The catch

Free skill, paid usage. It runs on your Claude plan and a full audit uses a lot of it (five of its agents use Claude's biggest model). Try /seo page on one page first.
It finds problems, it doesn't fix your site for you. You or whoever runs your website still makes the changes.
Speed scores are estimates without Google data. Add your own free Google API credentials (/seo google setup) for real Search Console and speed data.
Very JavaScript-heavy sites can give some noisy findings, the README explains the workaround.
The README promotes a paid community. You don't need it, the public version is free and complete.
