FreeLLMAPI: 34 free AI plans stacked into one app
Download the app, add the free keys you sign up for, and get one key that works everywhere. When one model hits its limit, it moves to the next one.

What you need first
The GitHub page, explained
Free tools like this live on GitHub. Open github.com/tashfeenahmed/freellmapi and this is what you'll see at the top:
- Star (34.2k): how many people saved it. More stars means more people trust it. Clicking it is optional and needs a free GitHub account.
- Green Code button: the download button. You only need it if a step below tells you to.
- About: one line on what it does, so you know you're on the right page.
Scroll down the GitHub page to README: that's the creator's full manual. This page is the simple version.
Step by step
Download the app
On the GitHub page open the newest Release and download the file for your computer.
- …arm64.dmg if your Mac has an Apple chip (M1 or newer).
- …x64.dmg for an older Intel Mac.
- FreeLLMAPI-Setup-….exe
Add your free keys
Open it from the tray icon → Open Dashboard → Keys. Paste a key for each free plan you signed up for. No account or password to set up in the desktop app.

Copy your one key
The unified key is at the top of the Keys page (and in the tray popover). That's the one key you use everywhere.
Use it in Claude Code
Paste your unified key into this command:
npx freellmapi setup-claude --url http://localhost:3001 --api-key YOUR-UNIFIED-KEY
Tip: Prefer not to change your settings? npx freellmapi launch starts Claude Code on FreeLLMAPI just for that session.
Heard of OmniRoute?
OmniRoute is bigger (350+ providers) and can fall back from your own Claude plan. But some providers it lists are marked “avoid” for breaking their rules, and it needs more setup. FreeLLMAPI only uses free plans you sign up for yourself, so it's the safer start. If you still want OmniRoute, here's the safe setup.

The catch
- You sign up for each free plan yourself. More plans = more free usage.
- These aren't the top models. Slower, not as smart, and quality dips late in the day as free limits run out (they reset at midnight UTC).
- Free plans can use your data. Keep private and client work off it. Its own description says “personal experimentation only”.
- New models arrive monthly on the free version; the paid “premium” catalog gets them the same day. You don't need it.
